Great weekend of good food and curling.

We stayed for an extended family trip and can highly recommend this hotel. While a little dated, the rooms were incredibly comfortable, clean and the staff were brilliant. We made use of the swimming pool, hot tub and sauna which was a pleasant surprise, but were unfortunately unable to get on to the curling rink. The full Scottish breakfast and evening meals were really excellent, with great (if a little too efficient) service. We love the area anyway and this hotel makes a brilliant base for exploring it.

A very friendly and comfortable hotel, would recommended to any one. Excellent facilities.

We went to the Alpine bar / restaurant section of the hotel and if you like curling you'll love this place. Open during the curling season, you can dine and or drink while watching the games being played. The room felt very club house, with role of honour boards, cups, shields, photos of the past presidents, winners etc. The atmosphere was warm and friendly, the service prompt and the food good. And of course, so was the free entertainment.

Stayed here for a week for work, so little choice. Lovely smell of damp upon entering the hotel, and I was met by the same smell in my room. The entire hotel is extremely outdated and is in dire need of renovation. I imagine 30 years ago it was amazing, but it has not stood the test of time. The one thing that got the extra star is the food - it is simply out of this world. Seen some bad reviews about portion size but I was always stuffed after a three course meal. The cooked breakfast is delicious, although there isn't much choice with it. The environment in the dining room is pretentious, but I'm guessing that's what a lot of people go there for. On checking out a glass of wine was 'outstanding' on my room bill, even though I didn't drink at all my entire stay. The receptionist took it off the bill, after a good 5 second stare into my eyes after I said I did not drink.
