Lovely walks and views during last Julys heatwave. We took a picnic and sat at one of the tables near the tearoom, couldn't resist trying some of their cakes and could have had a good meal if we hadn't gone prepared. Handy that locals can use the tearoom without paying to go in the actual gardens.
Not too big and not too small is how I would sum up Castle Kennedy Gardens. The paths are easy to follow and allow you to really appreciate the lovely views of the ruined castle and the two lochs either side of it. Don't miss out on the beautiful walled garden next to the ruined castle, just stunning!
Great place with a few different routes to take round the gardens, we did most of one route and realised we had loads of time left so began to follow another route. The times for the routes are for a very relaxed walk. Dogs are welcome in all areas except the tea room, however a marquee is open to get out the Scottish weather with the dog.
Stunning, picturesque early 1700s castle. Can't go in but can see in from outside it easily. Beautiful walled garden and huge round pond in the middle. 2 lochs and another habited castle as well as 1700s gun emplacements. Well worth a walk around.Clean toilet in car park only. Cafe and gift shop.
What a wonderful find. The grounds are very well kept and the walled garden is a joy. Cafe on site selling some really nice food at a very reasonable price. Very much recommended for anyone in the area.
