Lovely site. Cleanest toilets I have ever seen!

Stayed one night before the Cairnryan to Belfast Ferry. Easy to find and convenient for Stranraer shops and facilities. 15mins drive to the port . Open park surrounded by masses of tall conifers. Some areas of caravan storage at the top look a bit unattractive. Nice welcome at reception. cash only. Good cheap price per night .Electric hook up is a bit underpowered by modern site standards . I think it's 10 amps. But easy to reset at the post of you accidentally trip it out. Picnic style benches around the site. We were given a pitch on the car- park-like hard stand area which we didn't mind but there are more attractive pitches surrounded by grass if you prefer. There is strange dual toilet block system. If you stay less than 3 nights you have to use the short stay block. This has pay per use showers.50p for 8 mins . My husband used one and he found it to be a bit low pressure and not very hot. The block was very old fashioned and chilly.(although perfectly clean). The meters for the showers are set very high and not very accessible outside the cubicle. Why people who have a short stay are discriminated against this way I am not sure ? We did not see the free long stay shower blocks as we were not given access so I can't comment on these. The logic seems flawed. why do this for short stayers.?We pay the same per night as the long stayers. Modern tourer units now have good washing facilities and we instead just simply heated up our 'van water tank with the hook up electric had a shower/wash on the caravan instead so the electric still got used for the shower the same and we didn't pay extra for it, so where is the saving for the site? Is it to discourage guests from showering so the showers don't need so much cleaning ?In summary easy to find, clean and handy for the ferry, and Stranraer but could do with some upgrading and rethink of the washing arrangements.

Great camp site. Quiet, close to an amazing play park and really convenient for the ferry. Our two boys, 3 and 5, loved the site which was filled with wild rabbits. Slightly annoying to have to have a 50p piece for the shower but the facilities were clean and bright.

This is a lovely big site. The owners are very friendly. They have hardstanding and grass pitches. The toilets & showers are very clean.

A very pleasant and clean campsite in Stranraer. Easy access to the town and facilities.
